Pastor Ize-Iyamu The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Candidate in th Edo State Gubernatorial Election held on 28th September has testified against the declaration of Mr Godwin Obaseki of All Progressive Congress as the governor by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Mallam Yusif Alli(SAN) led the petitioners, he re-iterated the call on the tribunal to declare he, Ize-Iyamu as the rightfull winner of the the Election as God win Obaseki was not duly elected by majority votes cast in the election. He said the election was invalidated as it did not comply with 2010 Electoral Act Due to Corrupt Practices.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu adopted a witness document as a testimony to the Panel that he scored the highest number of votes wich was recorded in the 2629 polling units in the state. He said the the result sheet and voters register does not tally and in pursuant to the order of the tribunal. Ize-Iyamu also told the tribunal that he was in his unit throughout the election and as such the petition is the truth.
Whereas the counsel to Godwin Obaseki Said he could not be right since he could only be in a polling unit from the beginning to the end of the election and could not determine what goes on in other polling units
